Vulnerabilities for Marginalized Groups in the United States Forensic Anthropology Education System: Paths to Engagement and Belonging

Implicit and explicit barriers to building a culture of belonging persist in U.S. forensic anthropology. These create exacerbate vulnerabilities, especially among marginalized groups, that need be addressed. The lack diversity anthropology is well documented. At the same time, there has been significant upswing academic programs focusing on at both undergraduate graduate levels. However, successful promote retention, these must address pervasive structural continue impede diversity. Major impediments include hierarchical structure, illusion objectivity, racial cis-gender-biased methodologies, uncertainty. all levels, peer engagement active, constructive mentorship may semantically structurally allow for bridge between past future. Pedagogy professional practices modernized restructured learning environments foster engagement.
